Donna Jean Durr

Donna Jean Durr, age 92, of Branson, Missouri

Donna Jean Durr, age 92, of Branson, Missouri, passed away December 11, 2023, with family by her side. She entered this life September 3, 1931, the daughter of Harvey and Cledyth (Davis) Chrisman in Des Moines, Iowa. Donna was joined in marriage to Charles “Charlie” Frederick Durr on October 22, 1950.

Growing up in Iowa, Donna’s fondest memories were living on the family farm, where she mastered cooking, canning, and raising five children. Outside of the farm, Donna worked for the University of Iowa as a financial clerk. She enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, and tending her houseplants. When she was able, she enjoyed vacationing at the lake in Minnesota. Anyone who had the pleasure of meeting Donna would agree she was a kind person with a beautiful smile and the epitome of a lady. She enjoyed working word searches and playing UNO and other card games with Charlie. Her passion was ministering as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and teaching the truth of the Bible. Donna’s love for others will be remembered always through the legacy of her children and grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.

Donna is survived by her children: Dennis (Shiela) Durr of Forsyth, Missouri, David Durr of Forsyth, Missouri, Nancy Jaeger of Forsyth, Missouri, and Carole (Mark) Hautt of North Liberty, Iowa; and thirteen grandchildren: Jenni, Karri, Nate, Tanner, Devon, Mandy, Bruce, Fred, Kristi, Jacob, Alishia, Chris, and Tim. She is also survived by twenty great-grandchildren: Robert, Rhia, Raven, Lincoln, Liam, Samuel, Lucas, Gene, Carter, Kyle, Emily, Eldon, Tyler, Zachary, Caelyn, Declan, Madelynn, Brandon, Dusty, Bailey, Chandler, and Penny Lue; and one great-great-grandchild: Terrance; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of seventy years, Charlie Durr; daughter, Brenda Evans; daughter-in-law, Patricia Durr; grandson, Dustin Harrison; brother-in-law, Robert Durr; and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Von Ahsen.

There will be a memorial service held at a later date. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks. To leave an online condolence or share a memory, please visit www.cremationsoftheozarks.com.
