Cheryl Elaine Hein Johnson

Cheryl Elaine Hein Johnson, age 73, Branson, Missouri

Cheryl Elaine Hein Johnson left this earthly world on January 2, 2024 at the age of 73 to enter the gates of Heaven and greet her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

CJ, as she was affectionately known, was born on April 29, 1950 in Faribault, Minnesota.  She graduated high school in Cleveland, Minnesota and with marriage and children came a move to South Dakota.  Thirteen years ago, she left the North and made her way to Branson as God was leading her.

CJ not only cared for her family, but made her life’s work caring for others.  Her compassion, love and generosity combined with her bubbly and outgoing spirit made her the friend of many and a person you wanted to be around.

CJ also loved music.  She was a faithful member of the Faith and Wisdom congregation and the choir.  She was actively involved with the Country Gospel Music Association, CGMA, supporting the organization on many levels especially with her time as a volunteer and prayer.  She also had a close friendship with the Blackwood gospel family and was an encourager to their ministry.

Most of all, CJ loved the Lord with all of her heart; it was what enabled her to be a light.  She had immeasurable joy and an infectious smile that covered much of the physical pain that she carried.  Her humor, love, friendship and eccentric personality will be missed beyond words.

CJ was preceded in death by her parents, Warren & Elaine Hein and her husband, Carl Johnson.

She leaves behind her sons, Clint Johnson of Lead, South Dakota and Jason Johnson of Cortez, Colorado; daughter, Sunny Johnson of California; brother, Ron Hein of Maryland and three grandchildren.

A celebration of CJ’s life will be held at Faith and Wisdom Church on Saturday, January 6, 2023 at 11:00 AM.
