Charles D. Vincent, 86 of Rockaway Beach.

Graveside services for Charles D. Vincent, 86 of Rockaway Beach will be held Tuesday, May 21, 2024, 10 AM at the Lakin Cemetery, Lakin, Ks., with Father Tim Hickey officiating.  Charles passed away May 16, 2024, at his home surrounded by family.  Arrangements are under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson.

Charles David Vincent was born October 5, 1937, in Labette County, Kansas.  He was the son of Roscoe P.  and Lorrine (Huckelberry) Vincent.  After high school he served in the United States Navy.

He married Delilah Barchet on November 17, 1967, in Lakin, Ks.  They had celebrated fifty-six years together. Charles had worked for the Fish & Game Dept. in Kansas, with the Barton Construction in the oilfield in Kansas; Rock Island Railroad; drove a truck for a while; foreman at Farr Better Feeds for eighteen years, and assistant manage at Lakin Lanes (bowling alley) to name a few jobs that he had accomplished over the years. Charles moved to Rockaway Beach to do his Dream Job, Fishing Guide which he did for over 30 years.  He was a fishing guide who guided trips where the customers caught their limit, and he told unlimited stories while fishing. He helped during fishing tournaments on Taney Como. Charles was known as Taney Como Dundee. He donated his time to take handicapped children on fishing trips. He also wrote articles in Ozark Trout Tales Book in 1994.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Kay German, Carol Kohart, Dusty Vincent, Judy Vincent, and a step-daughter Della Rae Hoffman.

Charles is survived by his loving wife Delilah “Dee”, children Dale (Shirley) Vincent, step-children Carl (Cindy) Barchet III., Mary (David) Jones, Bryant (Judy) Barchet, siblings  Rex Vincent, Ronald (Jodie)) Vincent, Wendell(Ron) Banta, Cindy (George) Pattan, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
