Barbara June Russell, age 80, Branson, Missouri
Barbara June Russell was born on December 22, 1942 in Bonner Springs, Kansas to Charles & Etta (Gold) Smythe. Her family moved to Stone County when she was young and she attended school in Reeds Spring from elementary age, later graduating from Reeds Spring High School. Barbara married the love of her life, Dean Russell on June 10, 1966 in Reeds Spring.
She poured herself into her family, raising her two children and sharing time with her very close-knit family. Barbara also gave 24 years of service at Walmart as a sales associate. She was a devoted Christian and member at New Life Temple in Hollister.
Barbara entered into rest on October 22, 2023 at the age of 80 at her home in Branson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Dean; brothers, James Smythe and Rick Smythe and sisters, Charlene Locke and Pamela Smythe.
She will be deeply missed by her son, Greg Russell & wife Darlene of Peoria, AZ; daughter, Margo Erickson & husband Dale of Merriam Woods, MO; brothers, Jerry Smythe & wife Kathy of Highlandville, MO, Hank Smythe & wife Karen of Kimberling City; sisters, Linda Smith & husband Sanford of Shell Knob, Dixie Rees of Springfield, MO and Cheryl Phipps of Shell Knob. She will also be forever cherished in the hearts of her eleven grandchildren, Jonathan, Daniel, Ian, Patricia, Megan, Alec, Matthew, Carissa, Audrey, Dale III and Nathan and her nine great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Barbara’s life will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at New Life Temple in Hollister. Chris Kaempfer will officiate and a potluck dinner will follow.

Barbara will be laid to rest with her husband at the National Cemetery in Springfield. Cremation arrangements were in the care of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson.
