Three Schools Reportedly Interested in New Ozark Mountain Conference

The shake-up of area conferences may not be completed.

The recently formed Ozark Mountain Conference which includes Branson reportedly has several other schools interested in joining the Pirates and five other schools in the new league. In a conversation with MOARK Sports on Wednesday, Branson Football Coach Aaron Hafner said he had heard of four schools but were not sure which schools had shown interest.

In a story posted this morning, Springfield Public Schools Athletic Director Josh Scott tells Ozarks Sports Zone that both Hillcrest and Parkview have petitioned to join the new league. In addition, the Neosho School District posted a link to a survey on their Facebook Page asking their patrons about the possibility of joining the new conference.

The Willard School District sent a statement to Ozarks Sports Zone saying they had been a part of conversations about the new conference but have not petitioned to join the new group as of this time.

The new Ozark Mountain Conference will begin competition in 2024. The charter members of the new league along with Branson are Bolivar, Carl Junction, Logan-Rogersville, Marshfield, and West Plains.
