Pirate Runner Takes First at Nixa Invitational

One of the biggest in-season Cross Country Meets in Southwest Missouri takes place with a local runner winning one of the races.

Branson Junior Tristen Bough took the medalist honors in the Large School Boys race finishing four seconds ahead of second place runner Julio Cruz of Monett. Bough, along with fellow Top 20 finishers Hunter Frazier and Justin Akers helped the Pirates to a second place team finish behind host Nixa. 

The Nixa Girls also claimed the Large School Girls competition with Branson finishing fifth. 

Several Lakes Area Schools took part in the Small School Competition in which teams from Lamar and College Heights in Joplin won the Boys and Girls competition respectively. 

Lakes Area Top Team and Individual Top 20 Finishers in the Small School Races:
Reeds Spring Boys 3rd (Max Hirschi/Evan Brandsma 18th/19th)
Galena Boys 4th (Colton Ellingsworth 5th, Cameron Sartin 16th)
Blue Eye Boys 5th (Jadon Weaver 10th)
Forsyth Boys 10th
Spokane Boys 11th
Crane Boys (Cameron Church 6th, Calen Faucett 12th, Nolan Brawley 15th)
Hollister also took part in the Boys Race

Blue Eye Girls 5th 
Hollister Girls (Katherine Schaefer 5th)
Reeds Spring Girls (Jenna Adams 15th)
Spokane Girls (Kate-Lynne Hensley 17th)
