In a big game, just a few moments that things go wrong can be the difference between a win and a lose.

That is what happened to the Hollister Tigers Wednesday night in the Class 4 State Baseball Semi-final game at U.S. Ballpark in Ozark as one inning of miscues turned out to be the difference in a 3-2 loss to Blair Oaks.

That inning was the second, when two errors plus other miscues and mental mistakes by the Tigers helped the Falcons score three runs without the benefit of a hit.

Hollister kept getting opportunities to get back in the game but time in time again, Blair Oaks would work their way out of trouble. In the seventh inning, the Tigers rose up and nearly tied the game as back to back RBI triples got the tying run to third base with one out but a ground out and pop-up ended the threat and the game.

The Tigers will play for third place this afternoon at 4:00 against St. Joseph Lafayette, who lost a tough semi-final match-up by giving up eight runs in the last inning erasing a two run lead and leading to a loss against Kennett, who will not play Blair Oaks for the title this evening.
