Forsyth Closes Regular Season With Win, Surprises

To say that the close of the regular season for the Forsyth Boys Basketball team was eventful would be an understatement.

The game itself was a convincing win for the Panthers as Ryder Blevins netted 31 points which included three dunks in their 74-42 win over the Monett Cubs, sending the Panthers to a 22-4 record entering District play next week at Hollister.

Blevins was also part of one of two events that happened prior to the game as he was presented with a special basketball in honor of him scoring his 1000th point last week. But the biggest surprise happened after the National Anthem as Forsyth Assistant Coach Zach Flippin got down on a knee and proposed to his girlfriend Ashley who had sung the anthem, a proposal she accepted.

The Panthers will now focus on the upcoming District Tournament, which they are seeded third and will play Ava in the opening round on Monday. Rogersville and Hollister, also 20 plus win teams, are the top two seeds in that district.
