A player who was still ranks high in many records for the Branson Football Pirates is honored at the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame.
At the Football Luncheon held Wednesday in Springfield, Malachi Daniels was named one of the Elite 11, a group of players who had major accomplishments in high school, college, and/or professional sports.
Daniels played four years for the Pirate Program during the 2008-11 seasons, and ranks in the top five in several categories in the Pirate record books including All-Purpose Yards, Rushing Yards and Touchdowns. Daniels was first team All Central Ozark Conference in both 2010 and 2011 as well as All-District and All-State. The Pirates made playoff runs each year including a District Championship in 2010.
Among the other honorees on the Elite 11 was Jeff Shore, who both played and later coached at Camdenton but also spent time as an assistant on Coach Steve Hancock's Branson Staff in the 90's.
