Cal Ripken Day 3: Branson Wins Second Game

After a loss on opening day, the Branson representative at the Cal Ripken Major 70 World Series at Ballparks of America has reeled off two straight wins.

After the Friday loss to Pacific Southwest of Hawaii, Branson has knocked off Yardley, PA 6-1 on Saturday then held off Southwest of Alabama on Sunday 6-3. Branson’s remaining pool play games are tonight at 7:00 against Glen Allen, VA and Tuesday at 4:30  vs. Chicago before bracket play begins Wednesday.

For the other regional teams, all three teams lost on Sunday, Booneville, MO to Windsor, CA 8-0, Bryant, AR to Honolulu 12-0, and Hot Springs to New England 4-0. 

The top two teams in each pool will advance to the Championship Bracket beginning Wednesday while the rest of the field will be in the Iron Bracket also beginning on Wednesday.
