Area Wrestlers Medal in State Championships

The Missouri State Wrestling Championships conclude in Columbia.

Boys and Girls Wrestlers finished up the competition with several in the Lakes Region winning medals.

Class 3 Boys
Branson's Cade Grimm takes home a runner-up finish at 215 falling to Samuel Murphy of McDonald County in the Championship Match. Grimm finishes the year with an individual record of 41-4. Meanwhile, Branson's Kyshin Isringhausen takes home a fifth place finish at 138. Isringhausen, who was undefeated much of the season, makes the semi-final before losing two straight, then rebounding to defeat Braden Werdehausen to claim the fifth place medal.

Two other Branson Wrestlers, TJ Storment and Alejandro Berumen, each won a pair of match-ups in their classes before being eliminated in the third consolation round. 

Class 2 Boys
Reeds Spring's Eben Crain, who won a District Title at 285 last week, was injured during his quarterfinal match and was unable to continue in the tournament. Crain's Reeds Spring teammate, Shane Pearson as well as Hollister's Bryson Whitman made it to the third consolation round before being eliminated from the competition. 

Girls Competition 
One of the three area qualifiers, Blaiklee Cagle of Reeds Spring in Class 1, won a couple of matches before being eliminated in the third consolation round while the other two, Kierstin Allen at Reeds Spring in Class 1 and Daphne Worley of Branson in Class 2, were eliminated after two matches.
