Nixa Announces Cindy Robbins as new Assistant City Administrator

According to a Nixa press release, Cindy Robbins is the new Assistant City Administrator; the full press release is below.

The City of Nixa is announcing that effective January 1st 2022, Cindy Robbins has been promoted to Assistant City Administrator in a full-time capacity.

Robbins previously served as Assistant City Administrator (in a part-time capacity) and City Clerk concurrently.

Chris Russell, President/CEO of the Nixa Chamber of Commerce, says during an interview Tuesday on KRZK's "Ozarks Now" program that Robbins knowledge of the City will be valuable in this new position.

The press release goes on to say that according to Nixa’s Home Rule Charter, the position of City Clerk is appointed by council but reports to the City Administrator regarding day-to-day operations. Robbins was appointed to the role of City Clerk by council in 2014. She was hired by the city in January 1989 as deputy city clerk and has served the community longer than any other current municipal employee.

“I am excited to announce the promotion of Cindy Robbins to full-time Assistant City Administrator,” says City Administrator Jimmy Liles. “Cindy has a depth of knowledge and experience which is very valuable to the city. This promotion allows her skills to be applied to special projects while strengthening our organizational structure. By creating the city’s first full-time assistant city administrator position, we are acknowledging the incredible growth of our community and organization, much of which Cindy has witnessed during her tenure. This prepares our organization for further growth and a faster pace required as we seek to set a standard for what high-performance local government can look like.”

Robbins will continue to serve in the capacity of City Clerk until Nixa City Council appoints a new City Clerk and that person is fully trained to take over the role.
