OWLS: Hiking Basics

Our OWLS (Outdoor Women Learning Skills) program was built to connect women to the great outdoors. In this series, we will teach necessary outdoor recreation skills and help women build their connection with the outdoor world.

For this session, embrace your sense of adventure and meet us at Dogwood Canyon Nature Park for a guided morning hike. We will go over safety, equipment, and trail considerations to help you feel confident to hike on your own! No equipment or experience needed!

**You will hike the Pine Ridge Pass trail at Dogwood Canyon Nature Park.

This is a moderate 1.2-mile hike with an abundance of native trees, wildflowers, wildlife, and a beautiful look-out point. Please note that this has some rough terrain, steep entrances and exits with large gravel, and other hazards. Please make sure to wear closed-toed shoes (preferably hiking boots), athletic clothing, and bring a water bottle.
