A fun, two day festival celebrating the reintroduction of elk to the Buffalo National River area.

The Buffalo River Elk Festival celebrates the Buffalo National River, the conservation efforts of the area, and the great outdoors. The festival is complete with drawings for elk permits, elk calling contest, food and craft vendors, live music, fishing derby, dutch oven cook off, pageant, and Running with the Elk 5K. After the festivities of the day, nothing is better than settling in your lawn chair listening to talented musicians with a refreshing lemonade in one hand and your favorite festival food in the other. Kick back and relax Saturday evening with a grand finale of fireworks over the stage!
